Safe chemicals to quickly clean your windows

There is no denying that windows tend to get extremely dirty. It does not matter whether these windows are at home or in the office; both of them need their fair share of maintenance. What better than safe chemicals that will quickly clean your windows?

Now, you may read the word "chemicals" and instantly think about a strong substance that will destroy the expensive windows you own. However, this is not true. Chemicals can ensure that your glass surfaces are cleaned perfectly.

Here are some safe chemicals to quickly clean your windows:

Ammonia is a popular chemical to clean windows that has its supporters, as well as haters. You will find ammonia listed in a number of commercial cleaning products. It is one of the most popular surfactants that get rid of the grip of contaminants, hence dislodging germs and cleaning the window.

The best part is that it does not leave behind any messy streaks. Even though ammonia is used by most people, there are some who think that this chemical is too hard. Usually, these individuals will opt for cleaners that are labelled as "ammonia-free."  Even though ammonia is water-soluble, it has a low evaporation rate. This nitrogen liquid dries quickly and can clean windows instantly.

2.   Butoxyethanol

Butoxyethanol is a common ingredient present in loads of window cleaners. It falls in the glycol ethers chemical range. Have you ever noticed that some chemical window cleaners have a wonderful smell? This is because of butoxyethanol. Even though it has a pleasant fragrance, it is a strong solvent and can also be used as a mild surfactant.

If you find out that butoxyethanol is also called butyl glycol, do not be alarmed. Butyl glycol is a stable chemical component that helps make a transparent liquid containing ether and alcohol. Companies that include butoxyethanol aim to make a strong chemical window cleaner. It must be kept in mind that even though this chemical can successfully get rid of strong stains on windows, it should not be used in big quantities as it can be a hazard to the environment.

3.   Chlorine

In the periodic table symbol, chlorine is known as CL and has an atomic number of 17. This chemical component is extremely popular and is more commonly known as compound sodium chloride, common table salt, or NaCI. You may be aware of the uses of chlorine- it is commonly used in public water systems to purify and clean the water of any germs. It is also used in swimming pools and fountains.

As a chemical to clean windows, chlorine works wonderfully. Not only is it safe, but it also has a deep purifying quality. Even though it is not a surfactant or solvent, it gets rid of all microscopic biological impurities, leaving the window squeaky clean. However, chlorine should be used sparingly as it has a strong smell.
